Save the Children has worked in Haiti since 1978. In the last 30 years, we have implemented development programs for Haitian children and families who face tremendous hardships and have continuously responded to recurring disasters especially with the 2010 earthquake and cholera outbreak. Today, we continue to implement sustainable long term programs and work with local Haitian government, international, and national partners to build a better Haiti.
In Haiti, we are recognized as a leader in education, health and nutrition, child protection, humanitarian response management, child participation, and child rights governance. Nonetheless, other priority programs include: water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); maternal and child health and nutrition; disaster risk reduction; and food security and livelihood.
